Technical department of the museum in the Francis’ Shaft

One of the oldest preserved mining facilities in town provides a space for 29 renovated mining machines and devices from the end of 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. When visiting this remarkable collection, the elementary and secondary school students learn about different types of drive (water, steam, compressed air, electricity) and see the 1893 Kley pump, which is the largest preserved steam machine in Slovenia and most likely in Europe too.

It is recommended in combination with Idrija “Kamšt”.
