It’s the Carnival’s fault!: The story of the runners (laufarji) from Cerkno

Old customs and habits, especially carnivals, are a part of our diverse cultural heritage. The Cerkno runners (laufarji) are very special with their interesting ancient wooden masks. Besides the Kurent carnival figure from Ptujsko polje, they are the only characters to have a permanent museum exhibition. The learning visit presents the runner characters, the history of carnival and the ceremony.
