Milestones of the 20th Century

The exhibition brings a brief overview of the vivid and complex socio-political conditions of the first half of the 20th century. The students learn about the history of this region and the fate of the wider Primorska region after the First World War: the Rapallo border of Italy and Yugoslavia, life under fascism, Second World War, restoration of Primorska to the motherland of Yugoslavia and the postwar socialism. One of the key milestones of the Idrija economy was the mine closure at the end of the 20th century. What is the town’s fate after its closure?

Connection with the school curriculum:

Modern history (the period between the two wars, Second World War), socialism, dissolution of Yugoslavia, independent Slovenia
